All higher education institutions and universities in Poland in the form of ownership can be divided into: public and private. In 2013, according to the Ministry of Education and Science in Poland, there were more than 450 higher education institutions in the country. Approximately 1/3 is 2/3 of the state universities and private.

Polish higher education has very old roots and traditions. The first universities in Poland, which are now public, appeared here in the XV-XVI centuries. The oldest university in Poland - the Jagiellonian University - was founded in 1364, in 2014 he turns 650 years old! Private universities have been established in Poland recently. The time of their appearance is the 90s of last century, when the first reform of higher education was held in Poland. Despite the difference in the appearance of the first century, between public and private university of Poland, the quality of education, the level of teaching and opportunities after graduation, they are almost equal. Universities in Poland are located in almost all the large and medium cities across the country. Krakow, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Poznan, Lublin, Katowice Poland are the major training centers. The largest concentration of universities in Poland accounted for Warsaw, where there are more than 75 schools and trained 270,000 students (15% of the population), which makes Warsaw one of the student cities in Europe.

According to the Law of Poland "On Higher Education" all institutions of higher education on the profile of training are divided into several types: classical, technical and narrow-profile (economic, health, agricultural, etc.) universities. Also, according to the law, to take a title "university" can only state educational institutions that are accredited by the Ministry of Education and authorized to confer doctoral degrees (PhD). The main amount of the universities in Poland called "high school", "academy", "Collegium", etc.

The cost of admission and training in Polish universities for Ukrainians

Education for Poland citizens in public universities is free. But for foreigners it will not be easy to enter and study in public high school: it is necessary to collect all documents, to pass an interview, pay a fee for consideration of documents (100-200 euros), and to prepare a considerable amount of contract payments. Cost of education in public universities for foreigners in Poland is 2,000 euros per year in Polish.

In private universities admission procedure is easier and do not required to take entrance exams and Cost of education is often lower than in public schools. Private universities are constantly improving the quality of teaching to attract eminent faculty, develop international cooperation, participate in educational exhibitions and strongly attracted entrants favorable conditions of study.

Select University in Poland

Many students ask the actual question - how to choice of the university in Poland, private or public? it is impossible to say for sure which one is the best higher education institutions. Public universities have a long reputation and brand name in the academic environment. However, private universities are "closer to the students' better understanding of how to meet their needs and gain credibility. To equalize the quality of teaching private universities invite renowned professors from Poland and abroad. Often, the same teachers work in both public and private universities. In our opinion, the success of a student in Poland depends entirely on the personal qualities of student rather than the university where he taught. Poland gives everyone equal opportunities, students task - is simply to look for them and fight for own future.
